communications leadership, built for nonprofits
Purpose Line Communications was founded on a simple premise: most nonprofits don’t need more communications activity - they need experienced leadership guiding it.
Small and mid-sized organizations often need to operate at a high level of visibility and accountability, without the internal bandwidth to support it all. The result is familiar, but exhausting: reactive messaging, inconsistent voice, missed donor opportunities, and teams too busy to step back and plan strategically.
Purpose Line exists to change that.
We provide embedded, fractional communications leadership to Arizona nonprofits - stepping into director-level roles on a part-time or temporary basis to bring clarity, consistency, and strategy to the work that matters.
This is not agency consulting. It is in-house experience, applied flexibly.
Our Approach
Embedded, not external.
We work from the inside, not the sidelines. That means learning your organization’s voice, understanding your stakeholders, and aligning communications with real operational and fundraising goals.
Senior-level, always.
Every engagement is led by an experienced communications professional.
Grounded in mission.
Communications is integral to nonprofit work. It is how your work is understood, supported, and sustained. Every recommendation is made with that in mind.
Why fractional leadership
A fractional leader is a senior-level professional who works with an organization part-time or on a limited basis, providing the same strategic expertise and decision-making authority as a full-time executive, but without the overhead cost and commitment of one.
Often described as “executive leadership, scaled to fit.”
